Implementing VMware vSphere on Data ONTAP - Learn how to implement VMware vSphere virtualization solutions on NetApp® Data ONTAP® 7-Mode and clustered Data ONTAP. In this course, you learn how to deploy VMware virtual infrastructure on NetApp storage. The exercises use clustered Data ONTAP.

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

• Describe VMware vSphere 5.1 virtualization solutions
• Configure physical and virtual infrastructures
• Provision the virtual infrastructure with Data ONTAP operating in 7-Mode and Data ONTAP operating in Cluster-Mode storage
• Create, migrate, and clone virtual machines (VMs)
• Protect the virtual infrastructure
• Monitor and optimize the virtual infrastructure
• Articulate the NetApp value proposition when integrating Data ONTAP with vSphere 5.x
• List and describe the best practices for connectivity, provisioning, data layout, and multipathing
• Describe the storage savings in a virtual environment that result from deduplication, compression, and thin provisioning
• Identify some troubleshooting scenarios in a virtualized environment and articulate the solutions for resolving the issues
